B. Are you looking for Sales leads? If you’re looking for customers and prospects, you need to know that from the beginning because we need to identify some certain key factors that will be involved from the get go in compiling your site.

A. WordPress is a platform on which websites and blogs are built. I am a WordPress expert. My company specializes in WordPress. You will thank me later. That’s all you really need to know. Just like GoDaddy is a platform or whatever. Google has some website platforms. It’s just a thing on which to build your website.

These developers can make anywhere from a buck to several dollars or more every time someone downloads or pays for that app. This is the heart of the iPhone, it’s these apps. There’s literally anything that you want to do. You can find an app for it.

WordPress is similar except that WordPress they’re not called apps. They are called plug-ins. Plug-ins, just like apps on iPhone, are made by developers all over the world and they are submitted to WordPress. A lot of them are free, some of them cost a couple of bucks, and some of them cost more. But these plug-ins makes WordPress very, very powerful.

Let’s say you wanted to have your customers talking on your site about what great work you do in audio format, there’s a plug-in for that. Let’s say you want to have videos displayed in a certain way, there’s a plug-in for that. This is one of the things that make WordPress great. It’s an open source.

D. It’s very, very simple. It’s simple to use, it’s simple to understand but it’s extremely powerful. If any of you guys have an iPhone or a droid, it’s not rocket science to use it but yet it there’s some real powerful technology and I think WordPress is similar.

Why use WordPress?

A. It’s very user friendly. If you want to manage it yourself, if you want to add pictures, if you want to create pages or make changes, it is ridiculously easy. I know you might be saying, “There’s no way that I can do that.” That’s just not true. If you can type an email, can you type an email? If you can type an email, you can create a WordPress page. If you can upload a picture of your kid to a computer, you can add pictures to WordPress. If you can’t do that, we can show you how to do it or you can find a video for it on YouTube. I’ve talked about it earlier that when you have a WordPress site, just by the very nature of it, if content is added monthly which is what we do for our electrician clients but you can do it yourself as well. If content in the form of pages and blog posts are added each month to your site then search engines love that. By search engines I mean Google, Yahoo and Bing. The three of them account for about 95% of searches. We want to get found when people search for terms like electrician and electrical contractors, etcetera, and if you have a WordPress site with content being added monthly or weekly that is keyword targeted in our content and it’s created in a certain way, those Google search engines and Yahoo search engines are much more likely to find you.

C. It’s also easy to makes pages. The more pages that you have on the site- the better. A lot of guys don’t realize this. They say, “Just give me a two-page site. Just keep the price down. That’s all I care about.” Well, you shouldn’t care about that because a 500-page site is a hundred times more likely to get found than a 5-page site. And I’m not talking a lot of money. You can those extra 495 pages yourself if you want. If you have us do it, we’re not talking big bucks. By saying that it’s a hundred times more likely to get found, maybe if I say your phone is a hundred times more likely to ring if you have a lot of pages on your site, maybe that will hit home with you. That’s what I’m talking about is important. You want a lot of pages on your site and you want them built in a certain manner.

D. It’s easy to edit pages. I talked about this earlier. Anyone can do it, a 5-year old can do that.

I’ll take a quick look at Google here and let’s go check out a site. Here’s a client of mine CJH Electric. It’s a WordPress site. It’s a nice looking site. It’s got tons of content in it. This guy is in Southern Maine. All over Southern Maine he comes up on the first page of Google and usually at the top.

You can do that once a day for a year, you will dominate.
